One for the history books

2 Toddlers + 1 Tub Eurcerin + Indirect Adult Supervision = The Clip Below

We were all sitting in the living room occupied with ourselves for about 20 minutes or so. Brianna had gone downstairs to watch a video and we assumed that the two little ones went with her so it didn't really occur to us that it was quiet....too quiet. Owen suddenly burst into the room and stated, "We're playing with lotion!" We quickly got up to investigate and my thoughts went immediately to the pump lotion on the back of the toilet in the bathroom. A big mess may have happened but it wouldn't be so hard to clean. Unfortunately Owen ran right by the bathroom and into...our bedroom. The scene that unfolded before us was ...well you saw the clip. Of course it couldn't just be regular lotion but Eucerin, basically the consistency of pure Crisco. We had a good clean up crew though and the best tool to help in the clean up was a shower scraper (the kind you squeege the walls of the shower off with after you clean it). We used it to scrape the lotion off of the walls, dressers, and any other flat surface. Fantastic and Windex seemed to help with some of the greasy aftermath. Owen and Kyla were totally oblivious to the disaster and were very proud of their accomplishment.

This has never happened with Owen or Kyla before and we finally figured out how. Kyla had never gotten into the Eucerin before and it had been in the same place for months. I realized why, she couldn't get the top off. She didn't know how to unscrew the lid. Well guess who knew how. The two masterminds worked together to pull off an incident that will go down in the annals of Olson and Jenness history.

Maybe we could win $100,000 on America's Funniest Home Videos. I will never laugh at those poor people again with the kids that "decorate" the house....(well, yes I will but I will definitely feel their pain).

On the bright side, Owen and Kyla will not need to worry about having dry hands for quite some time.

Fairest of Them All....

Bree's Snow White party went very well. She had a wonderful time and is very happy that so many family and friends could come and celebrate. As she put it when guests were arriving...."Look Mom, more customers are coming..." Thanks for making her party so special.

Kyla's Birthday

I don't have any pictures downloaded yet from my camera but my Mom sent me some via email today. I will post these couple for now and then add more later. A fun time was had by all. She wanted a Toy Story themed party. Why does she always pick the most difficult themes? Last year it was Blue's Clues. She seems to know when the popularity wanes enough to make decorations difficult to find and picks that one. Anyway, she had a great time and I will have the pictures to prove it. Thanks again to everyone who came to the party. She loves to have everyone over. She is also loving all of the gifts.

Halloween - Pictures of the Event

Here are some pictures. I didn't really get into the dressing up thing this year. Since they like dressing up as princesses anyway we just grabbed some dresses from downstairs and were good to go. Bree was actually a fairy princess and Kyla was Cinderella. They got a veritable ton of candy from trick-or-treating at school so we didn't need to make the rounds to very many houses. We went to Great-Grandma's and my Dad's then we went to the Lutheran Church's Halloween event. They got to go around and trick-or-treat at all of the different rooms in the church and then there were a bunch of games set up that they could participate in. All in all a fun event and better than freezing to death outside going house to house.
These are some pictures of the Halloween costume preparation that my mom took. I still haven't downloaded (and don't know if my husband downloaded) any others.

Fall Pictures

Here are a couple of fall pictures I took of the girls. We were able to get some fall color at Sharon's house and I had them wearing matching outfits. I just couldn't get a good picture of them together. Can you tell I photoshopped the one above? Make do with what you got!

First Bus Rides

Here are the girls on their first bus rides to school at the beginning of this month. (Kyla's picture uploaded but I am having trouble with Bree's. I will put it up soon.) It has been awhile since I have made an entry. They both seem to really enjoy school and have been bringing home lots of interesting artwork. Kyla's sentences seem to be improving however she refuses to eat lunch. That really is no surprise. Nothing else is really exciting around here. That should change with Halloween, birthdays, Thanksgiving, and Christmas coming up. I should have more to write about then.
